Day 02: Reykjavik – Northern Lights
For many, seeing the Northern Lights is the reason to travel to Iceland in winter. Created by solar storms originating from the sun, the Northern Lights need clear winter skies to be seen. So while you have the whole day to enjoy Reykjavik, later in the evening you’ll be picked up to join in the fun of the Aurora Borealis. There is something special about the idea of hunting for the Aurora Borealis and you’ll be totally under its spell. It is a mesmerising experience and a memory that will linger on!
Our expert operational team has decades of experience analysing weather patterns. We will review, each and everyday, the cloud forecast and the northern lights forecast in detail. We will not venture out in search of them unless we think we have good chance.
All our northern lights tours are guided by one of our specially trained northern lights guides, they are both knowledgeable and helpful and will even give you tips on how to take photos of the night sky and of aurora. We offer free use of camera tripods (a must to take northern lights photos), we only have a few so if you own a tripod be sure to bring it along.
Every guide brings along an astronomical telescope for you to try out. Look for the stars and astronomy signs in sky using the provided star map and see the space that surrounds in a new way.
Day 3: Today and at any time you wish, we’ll whisk you to the famous Blue Lagoon. Soak up in the warm and comfortable waters of one of the wonders of the world, during your visit in Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most famous tourist attractions and considered by many to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as well as an unmissable part of any visit to Iceland.
The Blue Lagoon is surrounded by a mossy lava field, offering incredible scenery, with state of the art facilities, a unique atmosphere and silica masks and water that make your skin extra firm, yet incredibly soft! Some of the many reasons visitors from all over the world visit the Blue Lagoon and return here again and again.
Your visit to the Blue Lagoon includes the Comfort Package and you will receive entrance to the Blue Lagoon, silica mud mask, use of a towel, and a drink of your choice from the swim up bar.
Having enjoyed all that the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you return to Reykjavík but you are free to spend as much time as you wish at the Blue Lagoon and join one of the regular shuttles back to Reykjavik.
Day 4: For guests on a 3 night stay, after checking out from the hotel we transfer you back to the airport for your return flight. And guests on a 4 night stay, the day is at leisure and you can further explore Reykjavik or you could always book another exciting day tour.
