Day 1: London – Geneva

Your adventure begins in London’s St Pancras station, where you’ll board the Eurostar to Paris. Change onto a high-speed train and whiz through France towards Switzerland in just over three hours, all the while admiring the beautiful lake and mountain scenes out your window. On arrival in French-speaking Geneva, make your way to your hotel for an overnight stay. Spend the evening enjoying a tasty meal at a local lakeside restaurant or take a relaxing boat trip out on the lake and admire the city’s cosmopolitan feel and the stunning backdrop of the Alps and the Jura mountains. Day 2: Geneva – Venice

After breakfast, depart Geneva in the morning and travel to Venice on one of the most scenic routes in Europe, the Simplon Pass. Relax whilst the train follows the shores of Lake Leman and across Swiss vineyards, with stunning views of the Alps in the background. Travel further south after crossing the border into Italy before arriving in Venice. On arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy a three-night stay. Overnight in Venice (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 3: London – Geneva

Start today with a short walking tour with a local guide for some stories of the city’s labyrinthine streets and campos (squares), then enjoy a gondola ride down the Grand Canal. A visit to Venice is not complete without a ride on a Gondola, a mode of transport that has been in existence in Venice for over 1000 years! Soak up the vibrant atmosphere in St. Mark’s Square, while marvelling at the beautiful mosaics that adorn the Basilica and maybe visit the Doge’s Palace, with its origins dating back to the 14th century. It is advisable to take a tour of this important Venetian landmark to fully understand its extensive history. Overnight in Venice (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 04: Venice – Florence

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then return to Santa Lucia station for your train to Florence. On arrival in Florence, make your way to your hotel and check in for a two-night stay. Once you get your bearings, start exploring this beautiful and historic city. A good place to start is the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest and most famous bridge over the Arno River, filled with shops and connecting the famous Uffizi museum to the old Medici Palace. After dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in the area, enjoy a Florentine gelato, considered by many to be the best in the world. Overnight in Florence (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 05: Florence

After breakfast this morning, spend another day discovering Florence. The Uffizi Gallery is immensely popular so avoid the queues by pre-booking your ticket and admire the works of Botticelli, Caravaggio, Raphael and Michelangelo. In the afternoon enjoy a walking tour with a local guide, take a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, admire the spectacular Duomo Cathedral and be sure to enjoy some fine Italian cuisine before you leave the “Renaissance city. Overnight in Florence (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 06: Florence -Rome

Travel from Florence to Rome by train and upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a two-night stay.  Start using your 48hr Hop-on-Hop-off Pass straight away to travel around the city.   Marvel at the ancient walls of the Colosseum, take in the dazzling views from the rooftop terrace of the Capitoline Museums and be sure to visit the famous Spanish steps before heading to the Piazza di Spagna for a spot of shopping. Overnight in Rome (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 07: Rome

Spend a full day exploring Rome together with your 48hr Hop-on-Hop-off Pass. Discover the wonders of the ‘Eternal City’ at your own pace, perhaps taking a trip to Vatican City to explore the museums and marvel at the ornate ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Explore the heritage of ancient Rome with a visit to the Roman Forum – why not speak to us about organising a walking tour? Come the evening, be sure to visit the Trevi Fountain to throw your coins – the architecture is quite spectacular when lit up at night. Overnight in Rome (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 08: Departue Rome – London

Check out of your hotel after breakfast and make your way to the airport in Rome for your flight back to the UK. Prefer to travel home by train, perhaps stopping off in Turin for a night en route? We are happy to make all the arrangements for you.
