Day 1: Colombo
Arrive in Colombo and transfer to hotel in Negombo. Overnight in Negombo (Meals: No Meals)
Day 02: Negombo – Dambulla – Habarana (141.5 kms)
After breakfast leave to Habarana. En route visit the caves of Dambulla, most famous Rock Temples built by King Walagamba of Anuradhapura. The first Cave host a magnificent 47ft long recumbent image of Buddha which is cut straight out of the rock. Many other images of deities associated with Buddhism are also present. Continue journey to Habarana and check-in to hotel. Overnight in Habarana (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 03: Habarana – Sigiriya (15Kms)
This morning again after breakfast drive to Sigiriya, a World Heritage Site and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky”, which is perhaps the most wonderous site on the island. Known also as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that once stood at the entrance to King Kashyapa’s ancient palace, set at the summit of the 600ft high rock. Afternoon jeep safari of Minneriya national wild life sanctuary to enjoy the scenic natural beauty and wild animals in their natural habitat. Overnight in Habarana (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 04: Habarana – Kandy (94.1Kms)
After breakfast drive off to Kandy, the hill capital and another World Heritage Site, and as Sri Lanka is well known for spices, an afternoon visit to the spice garden cannot be missed. Get to know plants that produce nearly all the common spices and learn about their culinary and medicinal uses. We carry on with an enjoyable city tour of Kandy and briefly stopover to browse the various gem shops and not only! We return to hotel where evening entertainment includes a Kandyan dance program. Day 05: Kandy
This morning visit to the Dalada Maligawa, Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, and in the afternoon, we visit Peradeniya Botanical gardens that host more than 5,000 species of trees and plants. The Spice Garden and Orchid House are not to be missed. Overnight in Kandy (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 06: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (76.4Kms)
After breakfast proceed to Peradeniya railway station to take the train to Nanu oya (4hrs approx.). Enjoy this scenic journey through the countryside dotted with lash and picturesque hills. On arrival at Nanu oya journey continues with an afternoon visit to a tea factory to see the manufacture process of world famous Ceylon Tea, and of course we taste a freshly brewed cup of tea as well. Overnight Nuwara Eliya (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 07: Nuwara Eliya – Colombo 168Kms
After breakfast drive to Colombo, commercial center and our city tour includes the Fort area, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Dutch Church, Galle face green, Race course – Shopping complex, Independence Memorial Hall, Nelum Pokuna theatre.
