Day 1: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to hotel (check-in 12:00hrs). Overnight in Delhi (Meals: No Meals)
Day 2: Delhi
Explore the historic city of Old Delhi including the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Rajghat and a rickshaw ride through the silver street in Chandani Chowk. Afternoon visit to New Delhi, Humayun’s Tomb, Bhai Temple, Qutab Minar, India gate and government buildings. Overnight in Delhi (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 3: Delhi – Jaipur (265 kms)
Morning drive to Jaipur, renowned for its blue pottery, carpet weaving and semi-precious stones. Remainder of the day is left at leisure. Overnight in Jaipur (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 4: Jaipur
Morning tour of the impressive Amber Fort, situated on a ridge outside Jaipur City and enjoy the elephant ride for the climb up to the main gate. Tour continues in the afternoon, visiting the Pink City and including the City Palace, still home to the Maharaja, Hawa Mahal “Palace of the Winds”, and the open-air Jantar Mantar Observatory which hosts a vast collection of astronomical instruments. Enjoy a stroll through the colourful bazaar before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Jaipur (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 5: Jaipur – Bharaptur (176 kms)
After breakfast drive to Bharatpur. Enjoy an evening guided cycle rickshaw and explore the Keoladeo National Park and its wildlife. Once a former hunting ground of the Maharajas of Bharaptur, today the park is home to some 366 bird specials and thousands of migratory birds. Overnight in Bharptur (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 6: Bharatpur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (60 kms)
Early in the morning, we set off for a cycle rickshaw ride in the Keoladeo National Park and return to the hotel for breakfast. Our journey continues to Agra visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route, imperial capital of the great Mughal Emperor Akbar and built in red sandstone during the 16th century only to be completely deserted 15 years later due to water scarcity. We visit some of the best preserved and graceful building of the “Ghost City”, including the Jama Masjid, tomb of Salim Chisti, and Panch Mahal Palace Overnight in Agra (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 7: Agra – Delhi (205 kms)
This morning set off to visit the majestic Taj Mahal built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 in memory of his Queen Mumtaj Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. This architectural marvel is a masterpiece fashioned from white marble and India’s most grandiose and world renowned monument (Closed on Friday). Visit also includes the magnificent Agra Fort. Overnight in Delhi (Meals: Breakfast)
