Day 01: Marrakech

Day 01: Casablanca Arrive in Casablanca and transfer to your hotel.  There is an afternoon city tour of Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque (outside visit), tour of the Corniche Ain Diab, United Nations Square, Mahakma, an ancient Low Court and the district of Habous, built by the French to resemble an authentic Moroccan medina. It’s not the usual tourist attraction but it’s a charming neighbourhood with narrow alleyways adorned with pretty low rise houses, complete with an array of open-air cafés and souvenir shops. Evening is left at leisure. Overnight in Casablanca (Meals: Dinner)

Day 02: Casablanca – Fez

This morning we will visit the Hassan II Mosque (interior) before we set out for Rabat where will be get the chance for a quick city tour to visit to the famous Mohammed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower. Our journey continues with visits to the ancient capital of Meknes including Bab Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, time permitting we might have time to visit Moulay Ismail’s Granaries too. We also visit the old town Medina and Mellah (Jewish quarter), and Volubilis a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the best preserved Roman ruins and mosaics in North Africa. Day 03: Fez

Today we will take a full day tour visiting the city’s Medieval Medina, a Wolrd Heritage site, we will visit a Coranic School (Medersa Attarine or Medersa Bou Inania, we pass by the Caraouyine University, the Nejjarine Fountain and the colourful Tanneries. In the afternoon we will visit Fez el Bali (Old Fez), Fex Jdid (Modern Fez) and there will be a stop to take photos at the esplanade of the Royal Palace. Overnight in Fez (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 04: Fez – Midelt

We leave Fez after breakfast and start our journey over the Moyen Atlas to Midelt. This a beautiful green mountain setting covered in enormous pine trees. We will have a little time to relax before dinner at the hotel. Overnight Midelt (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 05: Midelt – Merzouga

Our Morocco experience continues today to the Oasis of Tisserdmine where we will enjoy a barbecue lunch and then on to Merzouga. We leave our 4×4 behind and ride our camels for an amazing experience trekking the Sahara and the spectacularly enormous sand dunes, some of them reaching an awesome 150m in height. We will have time plenty of time to take photos and immerse our thoughts in the magnificent sight of the sunset. We spend the night in a Bedouin Camp in the vastness of the desert. Day 06: Midelt – Todra

We are up bright and early this morning ready for a camel trek to the top of the sand dunes to admire the rising sun in the glory of this desert. We will head back to the camp for breakfast and then we will be on our way to Erfoud, filming location of the “Mummy” return back to camp before we leave for Boumalne Dades via Tinejdad and Tineghir. Next stop is Todra Gorge, Morocco’s Grand Canyon, towers up 1000ft with spectacular limestone cliffs and very popular with rock climbers. Life for the local people carries on as it did for centuries and you can see them herding their goats and camels, and going on their daily routines riding their small donkeys. Nature is always at play here with a colourful display of shade variations following the movements of the sun. After a guided tour of the Great Canyons of the South we will make our way to our hotel. Day 07: Todra / Dades

This morning we will have a half day excursion to explore the beauties Dades Gorge and Roses Valley and the rest of the day is left free. Overnight in Todra / Dades (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 08: Dades – Ouarzazate

After breakfast we set off for Boumalne Dades and Kaleaâ M’gouna (rose capital), we find time for a bit of shopping too and continue our journey to Ouarzazate via Skoura Oasis. Lunchtime is left free. Our city tour of Ouarzazate, also referred to as “the door of the desert” will include a visit to the famous Kasbah Taourirt. Overnight Ouarzazate (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 09: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast we will continue our tour of Ouarzazate before our we set out for the Berber village of Aït Benhaddou to visit the famed Kasbah of the South. Lunchtime is left free and we will then be on our way to Marrakech through the Tizin Tichka pass. Overnight in Marrakech (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 10: Marrakech

Day is left at leisure to relax around the hotel or venture out and experience the hustle and bustle of the souks and bazaars. Overnight in Marrakech (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 11: Marrakesh

After breakfast we start a full day city tour of Marrakesh visiting the Menara, its olive garden and ancient irrigation system, Koutoubia minaret and garden, Bahia Palace and the Dar Si Said Museum. We are back at the hotel for lunch and our afternoon tour takes us to the Medina, its many bustling souks and the vibrant Djemaâ el Fna square with its many musicians, Gnawa magicians, snake charmers, story-tellers, acrobats and food stalls. This evening holds a special treat, a delicious al fresco dinner at an Arabic Palace. Overnight in Marrakech (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 12: Marrakech – Essaouira

This morning we drive to Essaouria where our city tour will take us to visit La Scala, Bab Marrakech square, the Medina, the old and new port. Afternoon and evening are left free for you to explore the city or just relax in the hotel. Overnight in Essaouira (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 13: Essaouira

Day is left at leisure. Overnight Essaouira (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 14: Essaouira – Marrakech

This morning we leave for Marrakech where we will have lunch at the hotel and in the afternoon we will explore the colourful souks and bazaars for a spot of last minute shopping while enjoying the exuberant Djemâa el Fna square (literally translating “Place of Death”) with its many musicians, snake charmers, acrobats and magicians and an array of colourful food stalls. Our last day in Marrakesh concludes with a “farewell” dinner at a palace in Medina. Overnight in Marrakech (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 15: Marrakech – Departure
