Day 01: Arrive in Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport and transfer to your hotel. Day is left at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi (Meals: No Meals)

Day 02: Hanoi

After breakfast we go on a full day tour of Hanoi starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, and the mausoleum Ho Chi Minh, founder of Vietnam, the Presidential Palace and we also visit Ho Chi Minh’s house. We continue our tour with visiting the One Pillar Pagoda, dating back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Our journey takes us to the beautiful Temple of Literature, also known as Vietnam’s first university. After lunch, we visit the extraordinary Ethnology Museum dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups and we then continue our tour the tranquil and peaceful surroundings of lake Hoan Kiem with its famous Water Puppet Theatre, where we’ll enjoy an amazing performance. Overnight in Hanoi (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 03: Hanoi – Nghia Lo

Today we set off after breakfast for Nghia Lo (homestay at local house) via Yen Bai travelling through, tea hills and rice paddies. On arrival in Nghai Lo, we have the opportunity to visit (cycle or walk) the tribe market and some minority groups such as the White Thai, Black Thai and the H Mong. Overnight in Nghia Lo (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 04: Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai

There is a lot of travelling today, driving through the rice terraced hills to take in the breathtaking landscape and visiting La Pan Tan village before we arrive at our hotel in Mu Cang Chai. Overnight Mu Cang Chai (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 05: Mu Cang Chai – Sapa

This morning our adventure continues on our way to Sapa over the Hoang Lien Son rank mountain roads which take us through tribal villages. We will encounter some spectacular and breathtaking scenery all the way up to Sapa. The rest of our day will be at leisure to relax and contemplate this awesome scenery. Overnight Sapa (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 06: Sapa

Situated on a towering elevation of 1500m, Sapa was once a hill resort of French administrators. We get to meet and mingle with these extraordinary ethnic minority people, and we will visit Lao Chai and Tavan village. Our walks will take us about 4 hours and we will visit the H’Mong minority people who first lived in Vietnam in the 17th & 18th century, and also the Dzay people before returning to Sapa. Overnight Sapa (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 07: Sapa – Hanoi

After breakfast we visit a local market where many minority groups, like the Flower H’mong, Black Zao and Zay people come to trade. The market takes place every day except Monday, Friday and Saturday or Sunday. Lunchtime is left free and afterwards we drive down to visit the Trung Do village of the Tay minority people. Here we can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before you get on a boat to cruise downstream the Chay River. The scenery to experience is simply breathtaking, overpowering mountain backdrops, lush vegetation and beautiful caves carved into the mountain. The boat ride ends at Bao Nhai bridge, where we continue our journey by the car back to Lao Cai for an overnight train to Hanoi Overnight on board train (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 08: Hanoi – Haiphong – Cat Ba – Lan Ha

Arriving in Hanoi and time permitting, we might have time to visit Tai Chi and the flower market, and get some breakfast too, before transfer to Haiphong where we take the speed boat to Cat Ba island and then transfer to Beo Pier for cruise to the resort. The rest of the day is left free to relax after the long journey from Sapa. Overnight in Lan Ha Bay island (Meals: Dinner)

Day 09: Lan Ha Bay

After breakfast we will go for a full day tour to discover the wonders of Lan Ha Bay which, incidentally, connects to Ha Long Bay. We have the opportunity to explore the amazing caves, try kayaking on the emerald waters and enjoy a seafood feast on its isolated beaches. Overnight in Lan Ha Bay (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

Day 10: Lan Ha Bay – Cat Ba – Haiphong – Hanoi

This morning is left free to relax or explore the surrounding area. Transfer back to Ben Beo Pier for the island of Cat Ba and continue to Hai Phong on board speed boat and we finally transfer back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 11: Hanoi – Departure

Transfer to airport for onward journey.
