Day 02: Arrive in Bucharest
Upon arrival in Bucharest, we will begin with a detailed city tour. Stroll through the narrow streets of the historic center, see the National Museum, the Athenaeum, the former Royal Palace, the Parliament (after the Pentagon, the second largest building in the world) and much more. Day 02: Brașov
Explore the Visit Romania’s oldest winter resort in Sinaia, where in the 19th century, the Hohenzollern built a castle, whose 170 rooms are designed in the most varied of architectural styles. After this visit, we continue to Busteni, where we take a cable car in the Bucegi mountains to see the famous Babele rock formations.Visit Romania’s oldest winter resort then take the cable car to Tämpa to enjoy a wonderful view over the old town. Day 03: Bälea Lake
Early morning drive to Zarnesti where we visit the bear reservation and to mix with these beautiful creatures. On our return we stop at the cave church of Sinca Veche and continue to the village of Cârțișoara, where many old traditions are still preserved. Visit the house of the shepherd Badea Cärtan, who in 1894, walked from here to Rome, in order to see the representations of Dacians on the Trajan column. After a spectacular mountain drive, a short hike brings us to the Bälea waterfall where we enjoy a cable car ride to reach the 2034 metre-high Bälea glacier. There is time at leisure to wonder around the beautiful landscapes of the Carpathian Mountains. Overnight in Bälea Lake Resort. (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 04: Avrig
This morning we visit Sâmbăta de Sus one of Europe’s most important Orthodox monasteries, and ruins of Cärta Cistercian monastery, en-route we visit to Romania’s largest Lipizzaner horse breed farm which was introduced by the Lords of Brukenthal. We also visit the wild animal compound before we set off for Samuel von Brukenthal’s summer residence in Avrig! There is time for a walk through „Transylvania’s Garden of Eden” before we enjoy a festive dinner served in the Orangerie. Overnight stay in Avrig (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)
Day 05: Bucharest
Heading towards the Olt Valley, we cross the Carpathian moun-tains, on a road built in the year AD 101. After a small detour c$o visit the Cozia monastery we reach the monastery of Curtea de Arges, which is considered one of the finest examples of medieval Romanian church architecture. Overnight Bucharest (Meals: Breakfast)
Day 06: Bucharest – Departure
Time permitting, we enjoy a farewell stroll through before transferring to the airport for onward journey.
